Ep 128 - Reset
Scott Schuette (00:01.265)
Hey everybody, welcome back to another fantastic episode of You're Fabulous, learning your zumps, got you, your host, Ed, and with us, you know him, Dan Coonryde.
Scott Schuette (00:13.093)
Dan.
Daniel (00:14.402)
What's up Scott? How you doing?
Scott Schuette (00:16.401)
It's spooky season, Spooky season.
Daniel (00:18.134)
It is spoopy season!
It is my favorite.
Scott Schuette (00:25.585)
That's right.
Scott Schuette (00:29.519)
The problem is I'm broke. spent all my money during the last few months, so now don't have any money to spend in spooky season. I'm kidding. It's all good. It's all good.
Daniel (00:34.83)
no, dude, listen, just, listen, spooky season is year round, man. Like don't, don't let yourself hold you back about the calendar. Like as far as I'm concerned, like today is like the 300 and like 55th of like October.
Scott Schuette (00:44.586)
yeah, for sure.
Scott Schuette (00:53.527)
I something like that. I think that's really, really awesome. That's great. And aside from being busy, how are you,
Daniel (01:00.556)
I'm good. I'm pretty good. I've got a bunch of projects and irons in the fire. That's life. That's always. But no, I'm doing good. What about you? You were talking about Vampire Circus before the show. Boom.
Scott Schuette (01:13.081)
Yeah, you're fair to Midland. No, yeah. My wife and I are going to see the vampire circus here in town, which is, I guess, a circus show, rather expensive circus show. Thank you very much. And yeah, I have a broad idea of what I think I might be seeing there. But, you know, it is what it is. think the question is, what is a vampire circus? And don't really know if I know the answer other than clowns that are vampires. That'd be my guess, really.
Daniel (01:35.48)
That sounds awesome.
Daniel (01:43.094)
of vampires.
Scott Schuette (01:44.399)
Yeah. And then acrobatics, steering feats of acrobatics and rock and roll is kind of what I'm thinking.
Daniel (01:51.904)
I mean, that does sound pretty awesome. don't know, man. think clout. Tony, people are scared of clowns. People are scared of vampires. I figure like vampire clowns would like be the thing that everybody should be afraid of.
Scott Schuette (02:02.807)
Zombie vampire clowns.
Daniel (02:05.614)
And they're already the undead. Come on, you can't be two undeads.
Scott Schuette (02:08.765)
that's true. Yeah, from outer space. That man behind the curtain, we're going to introduce him. You love him, Sam.
Sam (02:08.924)
from outer space.
Scott Schuette (02:28.357)
There you go, Sam Sir. How are you doing?
Sam (02:33.212)
doing good. I myself also very busy this time of year. I have joined the ranks of homeowner, which is an awesome feeling. But more importantly, it is spooky season. So I always get excited this time of year for that.
Scott Schuette (02:51.089)
Well, that's good. That's cool. For me, I think it started in April. But, you know, who's really kind of counting something like that? Yeah, for sure. Hey, listen, we wanted to be just kind of transparent. Could we be transparent with our audience here today?
Sam (02:57.158)
Good bumper.
Daniel (03:06.734)
clearly.
Sam (03:07.951)
Absolutely.
Scott Schuette (03:09.721)
Yeah, that's right. Hey, it's been a minute, everybody. So we know it's been a minute and we wanted to kind of be transparent hosts, be transparent guests and, you know, recognize that it's been a minute since we've put out an episode. It's been a minute since we've chatted about things. And I wanted to just kind of talk about the opportunity for a reset, so to speak, a reset for the podcast. We got together and we were talking about it.
Daniel (03:09.783)
Ha ha.
Scott Schuette (03:38.225)
I we talked a few weeks ago about sipping from the fire hose. I know personally I am. I don't know what you, Dan, but I feel like, and I'm hearing more and more people say this, but a lot of us are doing the work of at least four people. I find that for me.
Daniel (03:52.744)
man. No, same. I will say most of it is self-inflicted. You know, like I like to wear a lot of hats. I like to do a lot of things. I'm constantly my calendar is I'm down to parsing my time out into 15 minute blocks. So like like, man.
Scott Schuette (04:09.093)
Right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. No, totally get it. So, but you know, we want to make sure that when we're coming to you folks and you're listening to us, that we're adding real value, right? And so I think it's easy sometimes because because we're friends, we've known each other for a while, that we could talk about vampire circus here for another 30 minutes, but it wouldn't necessarily add a whole heck of a lot of value and it wouldn't make your lives better. And that's the commitment that we have here at the Fabulous Learning Nerds. It's been that way for the last few years ever since we got together.
bringing in voices in the community and adding value. And now I feel like the real onus for us is to be, what's the word I'm looking for? Deliberate, that's the word I'm gonna use today. We're gonna be deliberate about when we post and what we post and ensure that we're really posting stuff that adds value in a relevant way. so...
Moving forward, you can expect to hear from us once every 30 days. We're going to put a podcast up every 30 days. The first one will be November 10th. We'll be posting it on the 10th and then every 30 days, probably every 10th, unless it's on a Sunday or whatever, but that's kind of what we'll be doing. And we're going to bring the stuff that we're hearing out there to the podcast. Like the things that we're struggling with, believe it or not, are probably the same things that you're struggling with.
the curiosity or the anxiousness around AI, we're going to probably be talking a little bit about that. We're probably going to be chatting a little bit about new modes and methodologies and trying to stay on target from a learning perspective in a world that is moving faster than I have ever seen before. that's kind of where we'd like to be.
Scott Schuette (06:03.441)
And to that end, we want to make sure based on time, because if your time is as crazy as ours, that we want to make sure we deliver messages in an appropriate amount of time, under 30 minutes for sure. And just making sure we're adding value and being supportive of your time. that's kind of where I see the reset. Dan, what do you have to say about any of that?
Daniel (06:25.866)
No, Scott, think you pretty much got it all. mean, like, listen, we just want to make sure that, we're bringing not just words thrown out into space, but value. Value for you guys, value for us, things that you guys can listen to and can turn around and, like, implement and you can start using and are useful in your everyday. That's what we want.
Scott Schuette (06:50.307)
Mm-hmm. Yeah, for sure. I think the last time we got together, we talked a little bit about the fun of being a problem solver. And I problem solved today, and I love it. I absolutely positively love it. I think it's a big part of our job. want to make sure that we want to make sure that we're solving opportunities for all of you as well. So, Sam, any thoughts from you?
Sam (07:13.73)
I'm excited to see what the future brings. I like the direction in which we're going. It feels more organic. I'm definitely excited to see what the first few episodes of our new run is going to do and what places it'll take us.
Scott Schuette (07:35.973)
Yeah, for sure. Yeah, and we're still gonna have fun. And think that's important. And we still got a bunch of friends we're gonna bring on every now and then. Steve wants to come back. And like the worst way. Steve Horn, he's the best. We love Batman. He is the best.
Sam (07:40.177)
Mm-hmm.
Sam (07:43.973)
I love Steve.
Daniel (07:45.696)
yeah.
Scott Schuette (07:53.103)
